Children and Young People

Sundays

For the 0-3's there is a play area in church during the 10.30am service and play-bags are also available for those sitting in pews. Toilet and nappy-changing facilities are available in the North entrance to the church and in the Church Centre.

Junior Church for 3 - 8 year-olds meets in church at 10.30am. During the first hymn, the children gather behind their banner and process to the Church Centre, where they have Christian teaching, Bible stories, games, songs and craft. They return to the main service in time for Communion.

Quest is for older children (from roughly age 8 and upwards) who stay in Church until the end of the Gospel and then make their way to the Church Centre Lounge upstairs to explore the readings or theme of the day through activities and discussion, also returning to the main service in time for Communion.

Senior Quest is for those aged c.14 upwards. We meet on the last Sunday of the month, in church after the Gospel and look at a topical, ethical question. We consider arguments for and against and ask ourselves what the Christian angle might be

We see Junior Church and both Quest groups as the Ministry of the Word for children and young people, helping to deepen the knowledge and understanding of Christianity for our younger members. Young people are also welcome to receive Communion after a short training course, and to be prepared for Confirmation.
