Morning Prayer on the 1st Sunday of the month uses the Shorter Prayer Book, St Nicolas is the only Anglican church in the town which continues with Mattins.
Holy Communion services on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month use the new Common Worship and are fairly traditional in style and format. Music at these services is generally traditional in character and led by organ and choir.
The Third Sunday Service on the 3rd Sunday in the Month is a less formal Service - usually shorter, and often involving a discussion time instead of a Sermon, and finishing with coffee. We often follow a theme over these Sundays.
Family Communion on the 5th Sunday in the Month is a less formal Communion Service.
There is an 8am Service of Holy Communion in the parish each Sunday – this alternates between St Nicolas' (January, March, May, July, September & November) and St Helen's Church (February, April, June, August, October & December).
We are always delighted to welcome families, with children of all ages, to any of our Services. Please ask a Steward for any help you might need. Further information is available in the Children in Church section.
Up to date information on services and other events may be found on the church calendar.
